David I. Tesler is the CEO of Real Diligence, LLC. He is also the CEO of LeaseProbe, LLC, a lease abstracting company he founded in 2004. In 2008, LeaseProbe acquired Real Diligence. Prior to launching LeaseProbe, Mr. Tesler served in the New York offices of Skadden Arps Slate Meager & Flom LLP and Jenkens & Gilchrist, Parker Chapin LLP. During that time, he represented clients in the acquisition and disposition of various types of commercial real estate. He also represented clients (both landlords and tenants) in commercial lease transactions and real estate finance / refinance transactions.
Mr. Tesler’s experience in real estate law led him to see there was an underserved market for commercial lease abstracting services. In response, he founded LeaseProbe in partnership with Madison Commercial Real Estate Services, or MCRES. LeaseProbe is devoted solely to the production of commercial lease abstracts and lease review.
Mr. Tesler graduated with honors from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. After graduation, Mr. Tesler clerked for now-Chief Justice Dorit Beinisch at the Israeli Supreme Court in Jerusalem. In addition to his legal education, Mr. Tesler earned a MA degree in Medieval History from Bernard Revel Graduate School. Currently, Mr. Tesler is on the Faculty at New York University’s School of Real Estate and teaches commercial leasing at Columbia University’s School of Law. Mr. Tesler was selected as an “Industry Leader” in 2010 by Real Estate Weekly, a publication serving the real estate industry.
