Madison Learning Center Launches Series Of Free Cle- And Cpe-Approved Seminars For Commercial Real Estate Professionals

Monthly Seminars Taught by Industry Leaders Cover Broad Range of Topics for Profitable Acquisitions and Successful Management

NEW YORK, N.Y./LAKEWOOD, N.J., Feb. 9, 2012 – Madison Learning Center (MLC), the educational arm of Madison Commercial Real Estate Services (MCRES), has launched Monthly Learning With Madison, a series of free, live breakfast seminars for real estate professionals held in both Manhattan and New Jersey. Focused on compliance and best practices topics, the accredited courses are held once a month and provide Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits. A recent seminar entitled “How to Guarantee Clean Title,” which  was led by Louis H. Weinberg, Esq., Vice President and Counsel for MCRES, received high praise from its attendees.

MLC’s seminars cover the most up-to-date and relevant information needed to understand and negotiate complex commercial real estate issues. The monthly programs also include breakfast and networking opportunities for real estate professionals, including attorneys, accountants, investors, financial advisors and property managers.

Seminar Topics Targeted for Real Estate Professionals
Mr. Weinberg’s seminar on guaranteeing clean title focused on the importance of ensuring that the acquisition or transfer of real estate be effected with a maximum degree of efficiency, security and safety. Title insurance enables real estate attorneys to provide their clients with substantially greater protection than would be afforded by the attorney’s opinion alone. In a follow-up survey, attendees gave the seminar 4 out of 5 stars and suggested that the lectures be offered more frequently.

The first seminar in the series, held in the fall, was entitled “Lowering Tax Liability and Improving Cash Flow with Cost Segregation.” Led by Eli S. Loebenberg, CPA and CEO of Madison SPECS, the program covered how a properly conducted cost segregation study can deliver a number of benefits, including an immediate increase in cash flow; a reduction in current tax liability; the deferral of taxes; and the ability to reclaim “missed” depreciation deductions from prior years without having to amend tax returns.
